"Ambitions” is a cover of the Norwegian pop due Donkeyboy. For Joe’s version, the song has been given a glossy, Mika-esque top forty makeover. The production is dancier, and shakes off a lot of the retro-feel from the original in favor of a slicker sound.

The 18-year-old X Factor winner from South Shields, landed in the UK after being stranded in Cyprus since last Saturday due to the ash clouds from the Icelandic volcano eruption.

The Westoe lad told fans on his Twitter page at 1am: "Landed! Back in the UK."

Yesterday he tweeted to say: "Coming back today! On way to airport now!"

He jetted off to the Mediterranean island on April 10 for a family holiday after The X Factor Live tour.

But his holiday was unexpectedly extended.

Joe was due to attend the premiere of Miley Cyrus's The Last Song on Tuesday with fan Sophie Wilson, from Hereford.

She was one of 10,000 entrants in a competition to win a day with her idol which is now being rearranged.

Joe was also hoping to bring some sunshine home with him.

He posted a picture of himself on Twitter pointing at a sign saying 'Take the sunshine back home', telling fans "Saw this sign in the airport! Thought of you all."

The singer made 14-year-old Danica Maxwell's day when he dropped by her room ahead of his performance on The X Factor Live Tour in the city on Friday. And it was an extra special treat for one young lady, Chelsea Brown, who had tickets for the gig but was too ill to go. Joe said: "I heard that some of the patients who are going through treatments had tickets but couldn't make it down, so I went to see them. "Seeing them smile puts everything into perspective." All last week bands and solo artists including NOEL GALLAGHER and ARCTIC MONKEYS played at the Royal Albert Hall to raise cash for the charity's tenth birthday
